This is a random "quick pick" browsing through my directory. There really was a lot of good music out in the 80's. Wonder how my tastes compare to what you have in mind. Geez, I could make a really long list... and not just for the 80's! I was gonna just do songs but that would take too long plus most of the albums and artists I listed I consider good enough to listen to in entirety.

Artists:
Warren Zevon
Jane's Addiction
Michael Hedges
REM
Pretenders
Van Morrison
Chili Peppers
Soundgarden
Husker Duu
Replacements
Elvis Costello

Albums:
Flaming Lips/Hear It Is
Bob Mould/Workbook
Drivin' N Cryin'/Scarred But Smarter
U2/Boy -does that count, came out in 80 methinks.
Waterboys/Fisherman's Blues
Love and Rockets/eponymous
David Olney/Deeper Well
Jim Carroll/Catholic Boy
Roy Buchanan/When A Guitar Plays The Blues
Saccharine Trust/Worldbroken
Leo Kottke/My Father's Face
The Cult/Love
The Beastie Boys/Paul's Boutique
Lone Justice/Shelter
Living Color/Vivid
Laurie Anderson/Mister Heartbreak
Peter Gabriel/Peter Gabriel

Songs:
Replacements/Tim/Here Comes A Regular -one of the best drunkards songs
Richard Thompson/Small Town Romance/ Down Where The Drunkards Roll
Joy Division/Love Will Tear Us Apart

I haven't had a chance to see what you've already got up there, but off the top of my work-muddled head, here are some that I like. I would guess that you probably have the first four up, and probably don't have the last four.

Only The Lonely -- The Motels
Anything, Anything -- Dramarama
Hazy Shade Of Winter -- The Bangles
Ashes To Ashes -- David Bowie
All Of This And Nothing -- Psychedelic Furs
Sex Beat -- The Gun Club
Computer Love -- Kraftwerk
All I Want -- The Cure

RESPONSE: I only have "Only The Lonely " and "Hazy Shade Of Winter" :( --Brian

Kevin's got some good ones, and I'm sure I've forgotten a lot that I loved but here are some ideas:

Anything by Men at Work is great: Overkill or Land Down Under (got it already)

Who did Jungle Boy? That was a pretty funny song for the time (You mean the Tarzan song form the Listerine commercial? Got it already)

Phil Collins and Phil Whatshisname: Easy Lover (got it already)

If you want to go heavy: Appetite for Destruction or Van Halen 1984 or I&II(those were 70's I think though) (I've got the big hits from AfD)

The Police: Anything off of Synchronicity Album (got it already)

Huey Lewis: Heart and Soul (got it already)

Beastie Boys: Fight for Your Right, No Sleep Til Brooklyn, Girls, Rhymin & Stealin', Paul Revere (Basically that whole album!) (got it already - I have Beasties out the Yin-Yang)

Kool Moe Dee: Wild, Wild, West (got it already - I love 80s rap)

Flock of Seagulls: I Ran (got it already)

Escape Club: Wild Wild West (got it already)

LL Cool J: Going back to Cali (got it already)

REPSONSE: Looks like I have you covered for music :) --Brian
