{"id":301,"date":"2006-12-12T22:49:26","date_gmt":"2006-12-13T03:49:26","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/myvogonpoetry.com\/wp\/2006\/12\/12\/pros-and-cons-of-telecommuting\/"},"modified":"2006-12-12T22:49:26","modified_gmt":"2006-12-13T03:49:26","slug":"pros-and-cons-of-telecommuting","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/myvogonpoetry.com\/wp\/2006\/12\/12\/pros-and-cons-of-telecommuting\/","title":{"rendered":"Pros and Cons of Telecommuting"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I telecommuted for about a year until recently and thought I&#8217;d make a list of some pros and cons of telecommuting that I&#8217;ve discovered:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Pros<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>There&#8217;s nothing like getting paid to work in your pajamas.<\/li>\n<li>On cold days or rainy days, you don&#8217;t have to go outside at all and deal with the weather.\n\t<\/li>\n<li>You can shave or not shave &#8211; nobody cares.<\/li>\n<li>Save on your water bill by not bathing as often.<\/li>\n<li>Huge savings on gas for your car. Less mileage put on your car too.<\/li>\n<li>No annoying co-workers to come by and incessantly talk about things like trimming the hedges or little Timmy&#8217;s peewee football game.<\/li>\n<li>More time with family, especially children.<\/li>\n<li>Tax write-offs for internet access, home office, etc.<\/li>\n<li>Can play any music you want as loud as you want.<\/li>\n<li>Snacks and drinks are as close as the refrigerator.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Cons<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>You know immediately when the cat has used the litterbox.<\/li>\n<li>No going to lunch with your coworkers and no socializing with them.<\/li>\n<li>You can go stir crazy if you don&#8217;t get out. Groceries, fast food, even (gasp) The Mall &#8211; must get out!<\/li>\n<li>More time with family, especially children.<\/li>\n<li>Snacks and drinks are as close as the refrigerator.<\/li>\n<li>Distractions at home.
