So I’m browsing Flickr tonight and I see this text ad on one of the pages:

Just who is this Michael A. Beavers guy? Are so many people looking for him that it is worthwhile for a company to pay for an ad to help you find him? Have they found him and they just aren’t telling anyone? Was he missing? I have never known a Michael Beavers (or anyone with the last name Beavers for that matter). Now I’m wondering if I missed out on something by not ever meeting him. What makes him so special so many people want to get in touch with him again? Now I feel like I should find him. Damn you Michael Beavers!

I think it’s funny that when Google Adsense doesn’t know what ads to put on this site it defaults to putting ads about p03try. I guess it makes sense given the name of this blog, but it sure would be nice to be able to tell Google AdSense what category of ads to use if it’s not sure. Some good geek/tech/scifi ads would be nice. Hopefully nobody is actually coming here to find p03try.

I realized today that I haven’t posted any real DadStuff posts yet. So here we go…..my 4-year-old daughter was talking to me about going to the library and she said “it’s your ticket to the world” so matter-of-factly that it cracked me up. She said she heard someone say it on RugRats. I am so proud of her that she loves the library like she does though - despite the cartoon quotes.

Just read on The Download Squad that the latest version of Nvu has been released. It’s a free WYSIWIG HTML editor - I tried it a while back and it was pretty good - I’ll have to try it again. I always thought the editor in the Mozilla Suite was pretty good but I don’t want to install the Mozilla suite now that I use Firefox and Thunderbird.

The Pocket and the Pendant was a Podiobook - an audiobook released in podcast format. It just ended this past weekend. GREAT book! I encourage anyone who likes sci-fi to check it out. Since the podcast is over, you can stop by the site and just download the whole thing - it’s free and it’s a really good audiobook! If you use Firefox you can download all MP3s quickly and easily with the DownThemAll extension. I use it all the time to download legal MP3s off of websites (like 3hive.com).
For other great podiobooks, visit podiobooks.com. Earthcore is GREAT!

Ok, this is just too funny. It’s an arcade game competition that was held that required all entrants (and obsevers/cameramen) to go pantless. Here is a blog posting of the details. Here are some pictures.
My arcade holds up pretty well to the one in the pics - except for the pantless thing, of course.

Now that it is warm again, time to start on my MP3 jukeboxes again. I don’t have TOOO much left ot do really. I got a piece of good news yesterday - my sister-in-law’s notebook computer’s screen died do they bought a new desktop PC and they offered the laptop to me! It should be the perfect PC for the MP3 jukebox! Not sure of the specs yet, but it should do fine - it doesn’t take much to play MP3s and run Wincab.

I started playing the new Conker: Live and Reloaded Xbox game this past weekend. Fun game - great graphics and lots of humor. DEFINITELY not for kids. There is a lot of foul language I don’t want my 4 year old hearing (I don’t mind hearing it though).

This one is for The Sitter Downers:
For a password keeper, here is what I do:
I have Password Safe on my USB memory drive on my keychain. It’s is freeware, open source and needs no install. You can run it off of your usb drive from any computer. You remember one main password and it keeps all of your passwords. I have been using it for years - it’s great!

I just read a Wired article about the game Destroy All Humans. I don’t think it’s nearly as bad as they say. Granted, I’m only about 6 missions into it (I’m playing the Xbox version), but it’s fun in its own way. I’ll post a review once I get into it a bit more.
