Who is Michael A. Beavers?

So I’m browsing Flickr tonight and I see this text ad on one of the pages:
Michael Beavers ad

Just who is this Michael A. Beavers guy? Are so many people looking for him that it is worthwhile for a company to pay for an ad to help you find him? Have they found him and they just aren’t telling anyone? Was he missing? I have never known a Michael Beavers (or anyone with the last name Beavers for that matter). Now I’m wondering if I missed out on something by not ever meeting him. What makes him so special so many people want to get in touch with him again? Now I feel like I should find him. Damn you Michael Beavers!

Google Adsense thinks this blog is about p03try

I think it’s funny that when Google Adsense doesn’t know what ads to put on this site it defaults to putting ads about p03try. I guess it makes sense given the name of this blog, but it sure would be nice to be able to tell Google AdSense what category of ads to use if it’s not sure. Some good geek/tech/scifi ads would be nice. Hopefully nobody is actually coming here to find p03try.

The library – your ticket to the world

I realized today that I haven’t posted any real DadStuff posts yet. So here we go…..my 4-year-old daughter was talking to me about going to the library and she said “it’s your ticket to the world” so matter-of-factly that it cracked me up. She said she heard someone say it on RugRats. I am so proud of her that she loves the library like she does though – despite the cartoon quotes.

Nvu – WYSIWIG HTML editor

Just read on The Download Squad that the latest version of Nvu has been released. It’s a free WYSIWIG HTML editor – I tried it a while back and it was pretty good – I’ll have to try it again. I always thought the editor in the Mozilla Suite was pretty good but I don’t want to install the Mozilla suite now that I use Firefox and Thunderbird.

Audiobook: The Pocket and the Pendant

The Pocket and the Pendant was a Podiobook – an audiobook released in podcast format. It just ended this past weekend. GREAT book! I encourage anyone who likes sci-fi to check it out. Since the podcast is over, you can stop by the site and just download the whole thing – it’s free and it’s a really good audiobook! If you use Firefox you can download all MP3s quickly and easily with the DownThemAll extension. I use it all the time to download legal MP3s off of websites (like 3hive.com).

For other great podiobooks, visit podiobooks.com. Earthcore is GREAT!
