My Shaved Head

On Sunday, I shaved my head….bald. I have wanted to do it for a long time (for some unknown reason) and I finally did it. I telecommute so nobody sees me anyway. :) I found some tips on http://headshaver.org and followed those. We used dog clippers to first remove most of the hair, then a razor (Mach III) and shaving gel to remove the rest.

Here are some before, during, and after pics.

It feels weird and cool at the same time. Too bad it’s not so WHITE. I think it might look ok with a tan up there. I actually liked the buzzcut look. This is a one-time thing though – I will now let it grow back (that was the agreement I had to make with my wife). My daughter doesn’t like it.

Free (and legal) Star Wars MP3s

I swear I posted this before, but I guess I didn’t. Here are some free and legal Star Wars Republic Commando MP3s:

  • First, go to the SW:RC site
  • point at “Navigate” in the tip middle
  • under downloads, click MP3s
  • From there you can download the entire soundtrack. I really like it – it’s a really good Star Wars vibe.

UPDATE: The site above is gone. Try this site instead.

Your favorite 80s music

I’m finally nearing the end of finishing up my gameroom (maybe by the end of the month?). My MP3 jukebox is almost done too! I want to make sure I have a good variety of 80s music for everyone to choose from to play in the arcade. I have the top 100 songs from every year from 1982-1988 already, but what songs would *you* make sure you had for an arcade? Leave your suggestions in the comments.

Cool Windows XP trick

If you are using Windows XP and haven’t turned on ClearType fonts, you need to try it – it’s amazing. (Yeah, I know it’s probably old news, but I didn’t know about it til today). Go to
Desktop –> Properties –> Appearance –> Effects
and change the second drop-down to ClearType. Hit OK then the next OK. Now be amazed at how much different the text now looks in XP.

Credit goes to Tom for pointing this out to me.
