MP3 Jukebox

Now that it is warm again, time to start on my MP3 jukeboxes again. I don’t have TOOO much left to do really. I got a piece of good news yesterday – my sister-in-law’s notebook computer’s screen died so they bought a new desktop PC and they offered the laptop to me! It should be the perfect PC for the MP3 jukebox! Not sure of the specs yet, but it should do fine – it doesn’t take much to play MP3s and run Wincab.

Password Management with Password Safe

This one is for The Sitter Downers:

For a password keeper, here is what I do:
I have Password Safe on my USB memory drive on my keychain. It’s is freeware, open source and needs no install. You can run it off of your usb drive from any computer. You remember one main password and it keeps all of your passwords. I have been using it for years – it’s great!

Audioscrobbler

I just rediscovered Audioscrobbler….I had heard about it before but couldn’t get it to work. It keeps track of what muisc you have listened to. You download and install a plugin into your favorite MP3-playing program (I use Foobar 2000) and then it keeps track of what you listen to. Here is an image that shows the last few tracks I have recently listened to:

my recently played tracks

So, what are YOU listening to?

Slashdot image recognition – WTF?

I can’t remember my slashdot login so I wanted them to email me my password. You know those images you have to look at then type in the letters that are in the image (and the letters are all squiggly or colors/patterns go through them)? They are called captchas. Take a look at these from slashdot:
WTF?
Is that dkiiymi?

WTF?

WTF is that first letter?

I am a HUMAN and I have a hard time telling what letters those are!
