If you ever need to control Foobar 2000 remotely, here is the plugin for you. It’s called HTTP Writer and it runs a mini HTTP server within Foobar so you can control it remotely via a web browser. I was going to write a JSP to do this for me, but since someone has already done it, I’ll just use this. I used it all day today and it works great.

Here’s an interesting article over at PopSci on colored bubbles.
Stewie’s Mind Erase Elixir
My wife recently bought me a can of Stewie’s Mind Erase Elixir (SMEE) and I finally got around to trying it yesterday. It’s an energy drink with guarana, ginseng, etc. The can is yellow so for some reason I expected something tasting and looking like Mountain Dew. Instead, it’s reddish-pink and tasted like carbonated cherry Robitussin. You definitely don’t buy this for the taste. I think this is the first energy drink I have ever had and my co-worker told me they all pretty much taste crappy. It was $1.99 for this can of SMEE and it was almost worth it just so I could put the empty can on top of my monitor at work. They also have a red can of Stewie’s Domination Serum – THAT one is probably yellow.

Chat/Google Maps mashup (with AJAX!)
Ok, this is freakin’ sweet. It’s a chat system that integrates with Google Maps so you can see where the people you are chatting with are located. They threw in some AJAX goodness, and they have a recipe for a sweet chat system. You can also share maps with other chatters but I didn’t try it.
