Nvu – WYSIWIG HTML editor

Just read on The Download Squad that the latest version of Nvu has been released. It’s a free WYSIWIG HTML editor – I tried it a while back and it was pretty good – I’ll have to try it again. I always thought the editor in the Mozilla Suite was pretty good but I don’t want to install the Mozilla suite now that I use Firefox and Thunderbird.

Password Management with Password Safe

This one is for The Sitter Downers:

For a password keeper, here is what I do:
I have Password Safe on my USB memory drive on my keychain. It’s is freeware, open source and needs no install. You can run it off of your usb drive from any computer. You remember one main password and it keeps all of your passwords. I have been using it for years – it’s great!

Audioscrobbler

I just rediscovered Audioscrobbler….I had heard about it before but couldn’t get it to work. It keeps track of what muisc you have listened to. You download and install a plugin into your favorite MP3-playing program (I use Foobar 2000) and then it keeps track of what you listen to. Here is an image that shows the last few tracks I have recently listened to:

So, what are YOU listening to?

MP3DirectCut

Some podcasts are just too long. I get through 30 minutes and there is 30 minutes left. My MP3 player doesn’t remember where I was so next time I get in the car I have to FF 30 minutes. What a pain. So I found this awesome program to split the podcasts into manageable 15 or 30 minute chunks….mp3DirectCut. It cuts them lightning fast – no re-encoding. Great freeware program.
