Final Faction at Dollar Tree – fodder for 6 inch 1:12 scale figures

I stumbled on these Final Faction sets at Dollar Tree the other day. For a buck a piece they are an excellent deal. I bought one of each, played around with them, then went back the next day and cleaned most of them out. Note that only one of three Dollar Trees I went to had these, but they are available online if you can’t find them locally. None of them had the figures these go with. I may pick up one each of those just for fun but they are 3.75″, so not my thing.

I am so impressed with the quality of these packs though! They are harder plastic than I have seen Dollar Tree use in the past and they feel great and are really well done. They aren’t thin or flimsy at all and high quality, believe it or not. I almost exclusively deal with Star Wars 6 inch figure customs, so I’m slanted toward that but many of these will also work with Marvel Legends, DC Multiverse, GI Joe, and other 6 inch figures. If you customize (or kitbash) AT ALL go pick these up. Maybe if we can show Dollar Tree there is a market for this, they will make more accessory packs like these!

Here’s a breakdown of each pack and what I found and experimented with:

Final Faction Heavy Arms pack

This is an excellent pack – 5 weapons. The only one I couldn’t get to work is the barrelled machine gun – it’s just too small for 6 inch scale. I’m sure it could work in other ways on vehicles or maybe with some major mods. Two of them have side scopes and shoulder launchers that don’t work for 6 inch figures, so those may need to be chopped off. Here’s what they look like after modding and/or painting:

Final Faction Air Assault pack

This pack is great – the real winner is the jetpack. It’s not quite a Mandalorian jetpack, but it’s really nicely done and works. The smaller jet pack pieces work as ankle jetpacks, or when trimmed down work as gauntlets. The two barrels are great general fodder pieces. They could work as a wrist or shoulder weapon. The two V shaped pieces are supposed to attach to the back, but I don’t see myself using them. This pack would be worth getting just for the large jetpack.

Final Faction Covert Ops pack

This one has three nice pistols and is worth it alone just for that. The knife is great too. The small helmet can work as knee pads and if you cut the viewfinder off the tiny helmet, they actually work on 6 inch figures – see head below. The other pieces are well done but I don’t have any particular use for them yet.

Final Faction Synthoid pack

These are all pieces that attach to the back of a figure in a very particular way. They could work if you had a specific need for this, but this is a dud for general customization. Skip it.

Final Faction Covert Quake Arms pack

This has 2 figure attachments(?) and one pistol. The figure attachments don’t easily lend themselves to use on most figures. The darker one has two reptile alien heads so that could be of use somehow. It attaches to the back of a figure and the two heads are on each side of the figure’s head. I may try to use this at some point – maybe. The other piece just does not work at all – it won’t fit and work no matter how I try it. The pistol is good but if you want a pistol, go for the Covert Ops pack – it has three.

Pistol works

reptile/alien heads

painted and modded pistol

Final Faction Shock Arms pack

This pack doesn’t really work for Star Wars – the look just doesn’t fit in. Also, the grips on these weapons are quite large – they don’t fit in normal 6 inch figure hands. I did manage to get them to fit in McCree from Overwatch’s hand though. Only buy this if you have larger figures that need a crazy scifi weapon.

Very nice customs. They work surpsingly well with Mego figures too. How did you paint yours by the way? I’ve used spray cans but the paint always peels off even after a few coats :(

Oh and for the alien weapons, they can kinda work for 7-8″ but fit best with 12″ gi joe style Figures
