Custom 1:12 Beyghor Sahdett Figure

This one was fun. Continuing my love of random Star Wars aliens, here is my finished Beyghor Sahdett. Lots more WIP pics in the Beyghor Sahdett gallery.

Here’s the recipe:

  • head is a dollar tree fly toy. Painted the eyes with red dollar store nail polish.
  • antenna are from a dollar tree grasshopper toy, dyed darker green.
  • neck is a straw, wrapped in green craft paper and mod podged. Made it articulated by glueing it to a dollar store bead and made JUST the right size hole in the head for it to fit, no glue needed – rotates perfectly
  • arms, legs and lower torso is from Green Lantern Movie Masters Tomar-Re Figure
  • wings are from the same dollar tree fly that the head came from. I had to get creative to attach the wings and make them adjustable – used plastic Qtip rods. See pics, but if you need more info, let me know. I’m kinds impressed by this – the wings are articulated!
  • upper torso is the upper torso from a Dollar Tree Final Faction Drone figure
  • knee armor is a random bit I cut off the Final Faction torso (and covers up the broken knee)
  • leg wrap is a random yarn-like piece I found in my fodder, dyed brown, glued in place
  • tunic I made from an old white tshirt I dyed brown with acrylic and water and glued the seams with tacky glue (no sewing!). I’ve been playing with soft goods lately so making the clothing wasn’t too hard to figure out. Detailed pics in my gallery
  • belt is distressed brown paper bag – probably should have made that darker so it doesn’t blend in with the tunic
  • pouches are casts made from air dry clay
  • saber hilt is a fodder axe handle
  • saber blade is a 2.2mm yellow/green acrylic rod from ebay seller greenstuffworld
  • all paints are cheap apple barrel, dollar tree, etc

The incomplete fodder figure I had was challenging. The leg joint was broken so i super glued it and lost rotation in that leg. No big loss. I had to dremel the FF torso to get it to fit, superglued a yellow bead to the existing torso peg, filled in the FF torso with airdry clay and super glue. To make the arms poseable, i filled in the area around the joints in the torso with rubber cement. This worked for a bit but it’s loose again so I need to revisit this

I’m not 100% happy with the probiscus on the head, but i know if I tried to remove it, it would look worse. I may pick up another fly from the dollar tree and use that to try and remove it and make it look good.

The wings really only look good from the front. Not sure how to attach them in a way that would look good unless I remove the ability to move them Open to ideas :) But still – they are articulated/poseable!
