Is there a Firefox extension that will grab all email addresses off a page?

Is there? I can’t find one. I have a webpage with a bunch of email addresses and I want to grab them all easily. I can’t seem to find a plugin that does this. Is there one? I was thinking I could write a quick Java program to do it. I actually wrote a java program before that would do this but I can’t find the source code! ARRGGHH!

UPDATE: I found a freeware Windows app that worked – XSite

Foobar Remote Control

If you ever need to control Foobar 2000 remotely, here is the plugin for you. It’s called HTTP Writer and it runs a mini HTTP server within Foobar so you can control it remotely via a web browser. I was going to write a JSP to do this for me, but since someone has already done it, I’ll just use this. I used it all day today and it works great.

Tailinator – a log file monitor for Windows

Yes, Tailinator, not Mailinator. It’s weird how things happen. I went to news.google.com and searched for mailinator. It said “Did you mean: tailinator ?”. I clicked it – wondering what tailinator is and it gave NO results which I thought was weird – why would it suggest it if it gave zero hits? So I Searched Google for tailinator and it turns out it is a really good freeware log file tailer for Windows! I need one of those!

I played with it a bit today and it works great! It’s basic, but does the job nicely – it can open mutiple files in tabs, flashes when a file has changed, you can choose to load the whole file or just the last X bytes, and it can autoload a log or logs at startup. Tailinator seems to have no website listed in it and I can’t find its “home on the web”, but you can find it if you just search google for tailinator. So, a search for Mailinator gets me a log monitoring utility called Tailinator.

PopPeeper – POP3 checker

Since I have been using a plugin to Miranda to check my POP3 account, during the time period where I couldn’t use Miranda I had to look for a small footprint POP3 checker. My requirements were:

  • low memory footprint, the smaller the better
  • message preview – I want to see who it’s from and the subject before launching my mail client
  • mimize to tray
  • freeware

I found a TON of POP3 checkers and here were my results for the ones I tried:

  • eprompter – 5.8MB – too much memory
  • emailchk – 5 MB – too much memory
  • magic mail monitor – 5.5 MB – too much memory
  • mailchecker – 3MB – no preview
  • natty – 1.6 MB – no preview
  • mailpeek – 500kb – no system tray
  • PopPeeper – 1.7 MB – WINNER

So, I ended up using PopPeeper. It met all my needs and only used ~1.7MB of memory when running. Of course, now that Miranda works again, I don’t need it any more. Oh well. Maybe this info will help someone else in the future.
